When I work with brides and grooms on their first dance, I often say that their wedding dance is not just a dance, but a symbol. It is a symbol of two people joining their lives together and beginning to build a new, one life as a couple. So, their dance doesn't have to be of a certain name, like Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Waltz, or Fox Trot. It has to be a Wedding Dance.

Aren't They Happy?? :-) |
Sure, I use elements (usually called steps in the Ballroom world) from various dances, yet the emphasis is on the connections, not steps; on musicality, not rigid choreography; on leading and following, not on memorization of sequences. By using this rather unique approach (compared to what everyone gets at a regular dance studio), our success rate has been 100%. A pretty bold statement, some would say :)
Of course, it requires some homework in addition to a short 6.5hr / 5 sessions package wedding couples usually get. My couples normally do not shy away from the homework, since they find it to be a fun and enjoyable activity to spice up their hectic schedules.
